Higher MPG than expected

I've driven my 23 xse 300 miles now, and the hybrid MPG has settled to consistently about 61. I've yet to fill up the tank and calculate from there though - has anyone else gotten MPG weirdly higher than epa rated? Is it too early in the car's life to be accurate?
